    Description

Vintage Two-Fold Boxwood & Brass Folding Rule - Hand Stamped w/ Steel Tips
This is a vintage 24" two-fold, boxwood and brass
    Carpenters' rule
with square joint and steel tips.   This is an early one as all the markings are hand-stamped (see pictures).  I would date this rule around c.1825 - 1850 due to the early appearance of the numbers and the steel tips.  It has "
    8 SQUARE LINE
" graduations on one side.  I rate this ruler in
    GOOD CONDITION
overall.  It has 1 of 2 alignment pins and folds up nice and tight with a slight 1/16" gap.   This rule has been cleaned and is ready for display.  A few stains.  Most of the numbers and markings are clear and easy to read.   A nice example of a two-fold rule for you to add to your antique measuring tool collection!
If you have any questions regarding this item, please ask me prior to bidding. In the next few weeks, I will be selling folding rules made by Stanley, Lufkin, H. Chapin, Stephens, Rabone, Upson Nut, and others, so if you like folding rulers, please take a second to take a look at my other auctions.
Thanks For Your Interest & Good Luck!!!
