Vintage Stanley Sweetheart Folding 6" Caliper Ruler No. 36
You are bidding on a vintage Stanley Sweetheart Folding Ruler with Caliper,  No. 36.
The ruler is made of wood and brass.  I believe the wood is boxwood, but it isn't marked as such.
The ruler is marked with the Stanley Sweetheart logo consisting of "Stanley" within a rectangle and below is a heart with the initials S.W. in the center.  This is the mark used on Stanley tools from 1923-1932.  It is also marked No. 36.
When opened, the ruler measures 6" in length and then it has a 2" caliper.
The ruler folds and unfolds smoothly and the locater pin is intact and still in place.  The caliper slide is also in working order.
In lovely vintage condition, the ruler bears the expected surface marks from age and normal use.  As seen in the photos, "Harry Penn" (at least that is what I can make out) is written in black ink within the groove holding the slide.
This is a really nice Stanley Sweetheart Folding Ruler with Caliper.  It would be a fine addition to any collection of vintage and antique Rules and Tools.
