    Ex Heritage
    Tyrian purple
(aka Royal purple or Imperial purple) is a dye extracted from the murex shellfish which was first produced by the Phoenician
    city
    of
    Tyre
    in the
    Bronze Age
. Its difficulty of manufacture, striking purple to red color range, and resistance to fading made clothing dyed using Tyrian purple highly desirable and expensive.
    The
    Phoenicians
gained great fame as sellers of purple and exported its manufacture to its colonies, notably
    Carthage
, from where it spread in popularity and was adopted by the Romans as a symbol of imperial authority and status.
The origin of the saying: "Born in the Purple", and being known as the 'Color of Royalty'; extending into the modern age.

    From the seller:
    Hi,
I've decided to part with some coins from my personal collection.  Most of my coins have been acquired through reputable numismatic auction houses in both the U.S. and Europe.
You're likely a collector like me.  So what do the above T&Cs mean as it pertains to you?
Who doesn't love auctions that start at .99 cents?  If you win an auction, the lifetime guarantee means that if a coin is later found to not be authentic; you may return the coin to me at any time outside of the 30-day return window.  I've been a member in good standing on eBay for over 10 years, and I plan to continue to be a member in good standing for more decades to come.
Coins will be shipped via First-Class padded parcel w/ tracking provided.  The sooner that payment is received, the sooner that I can get your coins in the mail.
I've tried to take decent close-up pictures that may allow one to view what condition the coins are in.  Understand, that coins are my hobby, not photography, so there might be times that a bronze coin may have a darker or greener patina that my camera skills were unable to capture.  In some cases, these coins 'may look better in hand'.
I would like for you to be pleased with your coins.  As such, I'm willing to offer free returns for 30 days from the date of delivery for any reason.  If you have any questions or concerns before or after the auction ends, please message me by using the 'contact seller' icon.
If you like what you see, save me as a 'favorite'.  I will be auctioning more of my coins in the weeks to come.
